It was 1999 when Southern Californian entrepreneur, surfer, motorcycle racer, and packaging distribution company owner Michael Marrin invented and developed the original Etch-it Cups. After his first prototype, it took 5 years to organize and develop cost-effective manufacturing which enabled the original Etch-it cups to be competitively priced and ready for retail distribution. Once manufacturing was in place, Michael then formed Etch-it Inc. and he personally sold millions of Etch-it cups to major retailers. 

The Etch-it Cup Tags and Etch-it Wine Glass Tags were later added to the line and now all Etch-it products are proven to be added value, up-sell items that increase profits in multiple retail store categories. 

The original Etch-it proprietary manufacturing techniques are closely guarded trade secrets owned by Etch-it Inc. and no company has been able to produce any product that compares with the high-quality Etch-it brand of products.
